Policies
Registration
Students may begin lessons at any time during the year. Lessons are month by month except for June and July (see summer lessons). A completed registration form, registration fee and music deposit are due at the time of enrollment to reserve a lesson slot. First tuition payment is due on the first of each month.
Should the student choose to discontinue lessons, notice must be given BEFORE the end of the month during which the student is enrolled or you will be obligated to pay for the next month.
A non-refundable registration fee of $10.00 is required for each student. The reigistration fee is used to cover studio expenses including equipment, maintenance, and supplies. It also reserves a student's place in the studio and on the schedule.
Music Deposit
A non-refundable music deposit of $25.00 per student is required at the time of registration. Music, copies, tapes, etc. are deducted from this deposit.
Tuition
Full tuition is paid in advance for the month and is due by the 1st of each month by auto-debit unless special arrangements are made. Tuition is charged by the month (number of weeks in month X cost). If tuition is not received by the 10th of the month, Brook Fine Arts Academy, Inc. may discontinue lessons and remove the student from the schedule until the outstanding balance is paid in full.
No refund of tuition is given if a student must withdraw from a class and it is non-transferable to another class, another month or a sibling’s lessons.
Returned checks will incur a $25.00 penalty.
Recital Fees and Event Registration Fees
A non-refundable recital fee of $10.00 per student is due before recitals; this fee is used exclusively for the recitals. In addition, fees are required for all auditions/festivals and vary for each event.
All tuition, fees and deposits are non-refundable.
Prices
Private music and art lessons are $25.00 per half hour. Dr. Brook's private piano lessons and Lesley Jennings' private dance lessons are $35.00 per half hour. Group dance classes vary in price.
Summer Lessons
BFA operates all 12 months of the year; however during June or July our schedules can be more flexible. You may take as many lessons as you want during these two months; as long as we are given 24-hour notice for a cancellation, we will reschedule.
Cancellations and Makeups
If a lesson is missed by the teacher, a substitute will be provided or the student will be contacted to arrange another time. If a student does not show up for the arranged makeup time, that lesson is forfeited and another time will not be scheduled. If BFA is notified of a lesson that will be missed by a student, the student is placed on a cancellation list. As other slots become available, those waiting for spaces will be contacted. If no slots become available before the student’s next lesson, the lesson is forfeited. If BFA is not notified of an absence, we cannot offer it to others, therefore the student is not placed on the cancellation list. BFA does not offer credits or guarantee a makeup. The earlier the student knows of an absence and notifies BFA, the easier it is to find a place in the schedule for a makeup. Lessons are not extended, made up or credited for a student who is not ready to begin on time or who must leave early.
